AL FURAT PETROLEUM COMPANY

AFPC is considered as one of the standard achievements in the Syrian Arab Republic. It is a joint stock company of Syrian Nationality. It carries out the role of an agent for the Syrian Petroleum Co. “ SPC ” and the contractor in execution of the development processes. It was established after the oil commercial exploration of many fields in the area of Deir Ezzor, in accordance with the Service Contract No. 210 ratified by Law No. 43 for the year 1977 between the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic and SPC with international oil companies  ( represented now with both Shell and Petro-Canada ).

AFPC commenced its business in the year 1985 by executing the tasks assigned to it and producing the light oil with good properties compared to the international oil. This was done through applying technologies that resulted in the increase of the recovery factor of the oil reservoir, as water injection which gives positive results in maintaining the layers pressure and achieve effective removal and vacuuming processes that increase the oil recovery.

It is worth stating that the important accomplishments have been achieved within the activities of the company by using the most new technologies and the IT technology in the world, as the set up and usage of 3D software for oil fields and reservoir, where a Petroleum Study Center has been established that works according to the newest international technologies to update the geological reservoir simulation of the oil layers according to the new technology in drilling and production.

AFPC uses advanced systems for hydrocarbon counting and the new statement of the wells and stations, which includes the entry of all data of the productive wells and the cumulative and corrected accounts of the quantities of oil and gas and the count of the portion of the partners precisely and in short time.

AFPC uses many computer systems to manage all company statements such as the materials management, where it is possible to get all the required information about purchasing and stock control and assists in invoices checking, in addition to that precise technical specifications can be got. As for the finance management the most developed accounting system are being used.

As for the development of the national staff, which is considered as one of the most important objectives of the company, new plans have been set to train and develop the national staff technically, administratively and financially to go along with the track of the international technologies, so that we can manage works without the expatriates and replace them with qualified national staff.

AFPC undertakes to develop these software and systems and sets plans for that purpose in line with the international development and the methodology drawn by His Excellency Dr. Bachar Al Assad the President of the Syrian Arab Republic.
